Regulatory Directive: ECTN Visibility Requirements
The Director General of the CBC has reinforced the long-standing mandate requiring an Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN) for all cargo destined for Burkina Faso. While this requirement has been in effect since 2009, a critical enforcement measure was introduced to streamline logistics and customs oversight.
The Directive: Effective immediately, the unique ECTN Reference Number must be explicitly mentioned on the Bill of Lading (BL) for all goods.
This measure applies to all key stakeholders in the supply chain, including:
